Couverture WILDFIRE : THE COMPLETE IMPERIAL RECORDINGS 1968-69 de Kim FOWLEY

Kim Fowley is one of pop's great characters, a Svengali-like, larger-than-life personality who popped up throughout the 60s and 70s like some rock'n'roll Zelig. Fowley's credits as a producer/songwriter/singer (take your pick) are littered across records by the likes of The Runaways, Frank Zappa, Cat Stevens, Slade, The Modern Lovers, Kiss, Alice Cooper, Kris Kristofferson, Helen Reddy, Warren Zevon, Gene Vincent, The Byrds, Soft Machine, Teenage Fanclub and The BMX Bandits. He also created novelty hits by acts like B. Bumble & The Stingers and The Hollywood Argyles. Wildfire assembles all three of the maverick visionary's late sixties Imperial albums: Born To Be Wild, Outrageous and Good Clean Fun, for the very first time on this double CD set. None are currently available on CD. Includes such legendary recordings as 'Bubble Gum' (as covered by Sonic Youth), 'Wildfire', 'Animal Man'. Outrageous even graced the US Billboard 200 back in 1969. Featuring a host of musical luminaries, including members of Steppen wolf (the inimitable Mars Bonfire), the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band,The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band and Three Dog Night, and a special guest appearance from the 'Mayor of Sunset Strip' Rodney Bingenheimer. Taken from the original Imperial master tapes! Booklet complete with comprehensive liner notes and illustrated with rare images, boasting an interview with Kim Fowley himself. (Cherry Red)
