The Beat est un groupe de ska britannique, originaire de Birmingham, formé en mars 1979. Avec The Specials, The Selecter, Madness, Bad Manners, c'est un des groupes les plus populaires et représentatifs du mouvement ska du début des années 1980 au Royaume-Uni.
Réédition Deluxe de leur second album sorti en 1982 qui comprend un second CD avec des raretés (John Peel Sessions, b-sides) et un DVD avec des vidéos ainsi que le documentaire "The World in Action" à propos du chômage en 1981 dans la région des Midlands que le groupe illustre par deux prestations en concert.
