VIRTUAL SYMPHONY NO.1

"Virtual Symphony n° 1 has its roots in an earlier composition: Symphony n° 1 (The Mind Zone). That work was a conceptual piece for the ensemble, sequencer and tape. At the premier performance, a bewildered audience of 400 were assailed by an electronic soundscape combined with spectacles of flying mannequins, crazed dances, a video (shot by the composer), strobing lavender lights smashing guitars and Hungness' frantic conducting. After a gestion period of about a year (time spent working on other projects and commissions), he reaproched the work with the idea of expanding the piece to incorporate some of his recent production-oriented compositional techniques.
