"Red Hot" de MOPDTK (Mostly Other People do The Killing) prend source en forme et style dans le jazz joué à Chicago fin des années 1920 début 1930, inscrivant cette démarche dans un registre de son et de jeu collectif très contemporain. Le groupe alla même jusqu'à étendre leur quartet habituel (Moppa Elliott, Kevin Shea, Jon Irabagon et Peter Evans) pour en faire un "Hot Seven" avec l'ajout de David Taylor (trombone basse), Ron Stabinsky (piano) et Brandon Seabrook (banjo/électronique).
