Typically, each piece is quite distinctly an electronic excursion to begin with before the Melvins take over with the power attack of drums and guitars. The Melvins' monumental heavy riffing is gravely apposite for the austere and often moving electronica of Lustmord - the sort of electronica that immediately suggests film soundtrack composition, not as music but something that paints sonic pictures.
