Groupe cubain à la très grande longévité, Los Van Van a été fondé en 1969 par Juan Formell et Cesar "Pupy" Pedroso, deux anciens membres de l'orchestre d'Elio Reve. Changuito, le percussionniste du groupe, a inventé le rythme appelé songo qui donnera son nom au style des années 1980. Le son du groupe évoluera ensuite vers la timba, qu'il pratique toujours aujourd'hui. Enregistrement live de 1994. (BD)
