"Gershwin by Grofé"....De quoi s'agit-il? Steven Richman et l'Harmonie Ensemble retrace la collaboration fructueuse du trio Gershwin, Grofé et Whiteman. Arrangeur, orchestrateur, co-auteur de Gershwin, Ferde Grofé s'occupe aussi des arrangements instrumentaux du compositeur. Tout est mis en place pour que chaque auditeur se mette discrètement en mouvement: dodelinements de la tête, orteils frappant la mesure et j'en passe....La cause de tout ceci: des "tubes"; des reconstitutions d'orchestration originales; un enregistrement sur cylindre en cire et la participation du clarinettiste Al Gallodoro (membre du groupe de Whiteman). Pas de doute, c'est un retour "actuel" dans les années '20! MDW
