La pianiste ukrainienne Valentina Lisitsa avoue avoir un penchant pour la musique de Rachmaninov et de Beethoven mais son répertoire ne s'arrête pas à ces deux noms : Bach, Mozart, Shostakovich et Bernstein y figurent en bonne place. Son dernier enregistrement Chasing pianos est consacré à la musique de film de Michael Nyman, représentant anglais du courant minimaliste. Sous les doigts de la virtuose, on y trouve des extraits du célèbre The Piano qui accompagnait les images du splendide film de Jane Campion ainsi The Draughtsman's Contract (1982), Gattaca (1997), A Zed and Two Noughts (1985), notamment. La sortie de ce dique coincide avec le septantième anniversaire du compositeur : Happy birthday, Miki ! AG
