"Billed as a new dawn in the label's history, this tenth International Deejay Gigolos collection nevertheless remains true to form. Berlin's Woody kicks off the first disc with some pulsing dancefloor futurism, giving a preview of his forthcoming album for the label, leading into more head-wrecking 4/4 electronics from Kikumoto Allstars, Sebastien San and Herman Schwartz, whose 'Replicant's Suffering' reinterprets Vangelis' Blade Runner Theme for a bit of robotic disco fun. Next, Lady B's 'Exhausted' takes on a more contemporary feel with its tight, stuttering edits and compressed beats, while Felizol's minimal, creaking beats stands out by virtue of its precise production. The second disc opens up with Kevin Gorman, administrator of the Mikrowave label, whose 'DMX' is a stammering digital beast that sounds as though it's imitating a skipping CD in the nicest possible way. More new talent arrives in the shape of Swedish producer Diababa on 'Happy Birthday Mr. President' which is followed-up by the buzzsaw bass of Oliver Huntemann's '37 degrees'.
