Album né de la collaboration entre Dorival Caymmi, compositeur et chanteur de chansons et mélodies aux rythmes et thèmes de la côte de Bahia, et Antonio Carlos Jobim, musicien et chanteur, pionnier de la bossa nova ; enregistré en 1963 avec la participation de la famille Caymmi (ses fils Dori et Danilo, sa fille Nana et sa femme Stella).
