On peut considérer que "Back to..." est un carnet de voyage en trois volets, où sont sondées toutes les facettes du jeu pianistique. "Back to the pulse" explore le rythme; "Back to the sound", la couleur; "Back to the voice" la vocalité, la polyphonie. Jean-Luc Fafchamps invite l'auditeur à programmer les pièces au hasard. C'est le pianiste belge Stéphane Ginsburgh qui interprète ces oeuvres.
Pour rappel, "Back to the sound" fut l'imposé choisi pour les demi-finales du Concours Reine Elisabeth en 2001. NR
