"Smagghe and Arnaud Rebotini are one in-demand remixing outfit, make no mistake. This compilation collects some of their recent work in the field and features reworkings of material from the likes of Depeche Mode, The Rapture, Bloc Party and the like. The first track here sees Black Strobe themselves getting remix treatment from Paul Epworth (producer of White Rose Movement and the aforementioned Bloc Party). Tiefschwartz's 'Ghost Track' and Martini Bros.' 'The Biggest Fan'both get primo electropop makeovers, but it's the Depeche Mode, Bloc Party and The Rapture remixes that really showcase Black Strobe's skill for restructuring a song melodically whilst preserving the source vocal.
